1. State Insurance Commissioner:

2. State Medical Board:

The Board of Medicine issues licenses to qualified Allopathic and Osteopathic physicians and physician assistants based on nationally recognized credentialling standards. The Board regulates the minimum standards for professional conduct and continued competence and takes disciplinary action against licensees who fail to meet these standards.

3. State Minority Office:

The Minority Health Office was established in October 1999.  It emerged as a reflection of DHHS commitment to provide access to quality and competent health services to all residents of NH.

4. State Nursing Board:

NH has a mandatory licensing law. No person may practice as a nurse or nursing assistant without a license. The NH Board of Nursing defines "practicing" as including attendance at orientation or completing other types of non-director care activities.

5. State Midwifery Organization:

The New Hampshire Midwives Association (NHMA) is a consortium of midwives who: support prepared out-of-hospital birth; promote high standards of midwifery practice and care; share ideas, information and experiences; provide a forum for discussion; promote understanding of midwifery among the general public and the medical community support legislation to preserve the option of safe birth alternatives and to protect the tradition and profession of midwifery.
