5. State Midwifery Organization:

The Oklahoma Midwives Alliance was established to further the goal of safe midwifery care in Oklahoma. The purpose of the Oklahoma Midwives Alliance (OMA) is to promote the safe practice of midwifery by protecting and advancing the rights of parents who choose an out-of-hospital birth and a midwife as their primary birth attendant by facilitating communication between midwives, furthering the education of midwives, educating the public regarding out-of-hospital birth and midwives, and assisting other organizations with similar purposes.
